April 14, 2019

As Jesus enters Jerusalem on his way to the cross, “many spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut from the fields. March 24, 2019

Into a culture that claimed to have the answers regarding men, women, marriage, and divorce, Jesus speaks authoritative truth to the crowds gathered around him. Mark 9:30-41

March 10, 2019

At this point in Mark’s gospel, Jesus is beginning to teach more explicitly the way of his Kingdom. “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, after three days he will rise.” But his disciples still fail to understand the nature of the Kingdom, and proceed to argue about who is going to be the greatest in this new system. Jesus, as the wise Teacher he is, uses this opportunity to teach a lesson to his followers about what true greatness actually is.
