Event Recap: Ladies Night
October 16, 2017
On the third Friday of September ladies from across North Alabama gathered at Summit Crossing for Ladies Night. We were honored to host this event and could not imagine a better way to spend a Friday evening. This time around the theme was Scandalous Grace. The newly renovated lobby space was primed and polished when the women arrived. This space proved to be the perfect open concept for an event like this – couches, coffee tables, and plenty of room to hang out and mingle! To say we are thankful to have the lobby back and functioning would be an understatement. Once welcomed inside, ladies entered the worship center to find seats for dinner. (Huge shout out to all those who helped with food – we value you!) After eating and enjoying the company of one another, Patrick and the worship band led the attendees in several songs before the main portion of the evening, the speaker.
Guest speaker Katie Taylor then shared her story. Katie’s story is filled with devastation and pain, sin and sorrow, and yet, redemption and grace. Isn’t that how so many great stories rise and fall? Throughout the night, she unpacked a history plagued with doubt and fear, something many of us (not only women) struggle within our day to day lives. She then recounted the ways that Jesus healed and restored her broken life. He created a newness in her and she is now on a mission to tell others this story - a true story, of how Christ set her completely free. The theme for the night could not have been more fitting and Katie’s story was a perfect example to show God’s great mercy and grace.

With over 350 women in attendance, we are so energized and encouraged to see this sort of interest from our community for a night specifically for ladies. The females in our community hold a pivotal role in spreading the gospel and sharpening one another. These women are strong, courageous, and a force for the Kingdom. We loved celebrating together with each of you!

Ladies Night usually happens twice a year – one in the winter and one in late summer. We hope to see you at our next event.
