Advent Giving Guide

Advent Giving Guide mysc3 insert.jpg

Advent is upon us again and we are so excited to share three ways that we plan to celebrate this year through giving. As November rolls around, we know it can be easy to become overwhelmed. We’d love if you would take some time to join us as we find meaning in this often chaotic season! Let’s take a look at what’s to come this Advent season.

For the past six years, our church body has begun to rethink how we approach the busy Christmas season. Instead of just rushing through the holidays, let’s slow down and reflect on the beauty of Christ. Instead of spending tons of money on presents, let’s challenge one another to spend less and give more to gospel causes. We hope that the Advent season is one of fulfillment and purpose in Christ.

This year we have three Advent partners to share with you so you can give locally, regionally, or globally.

Through our Searcy Kids partnership, you have the opportunity to provide Christmas gifts to a child or family that does not have the means to do so on their own. There are both needs and wants listed for each child, so have fun with it! Many of our Summit Crossing families look forward to this all year long. These kids and their families are special to us, and we want to cover them with love this season.

Look for our Searcy Kids Tree in late November in the lobby. Please note that all gifts must be wrapped, labeled, and dropped off to the Madison location by December 10.

For more information, please contact Bailey at bvinson@summitcrossing.org

Summit Crossing has been blessed this year with the presence of a regional church plant resident: Chris Brister. He and his family are going to be planting Union Church in the Auburn/Opelika area in 2018. Chris has spent the better part of 2017 here at Summit Crossing building a team, learning from our elders, and developing a foundation of support for the journey ahead. This Advent season we encourage you to prayerfully consider how you might be a part of the Brister’s larger story: pray, give, or go?

If you feel led to give specifically to the Brister family, please write "Brister" on the memo line of your check or give online at mySC3.org

Neverthirst is an organization that provides clean water to rural villages throughout South Asia who so desperately need it. By drilling clean water wells and ending the water crisis one source at a time, Neverthirst truly does bring life to the ends of the earth!

Our annual Advent Market (12/02) is directly tied to Neverthirst. As a hot spot to see local vendors, handmade goods, and pop up shops from favorite boutiques and specialty shops, Advent Market has created a name for itself throughout North Alabama. Last year Summit Crossing was able to give over $100,000 to Neverthirst through the Advent Market proceeds combined with individual donations directly to Neverthirst.

If you want to give directly to Neverthirst, please write "Neverthirst" on the memo line of your check or give online at mySC3.org.
