REBUILD

Although the events of last week were horrific, what an honor is it for the body of Christ at SC3 and others to be strategically placed in the middle of it so that we can be the hands and feet of Christ here. We look forward to being a blessing to this area. However, there is a big difference between "disaster relief" (short-term) and "recovery" (long-term). We want to be in this for the long-term and this will require a significant amount of time and resources from our body. We have already had over 10 churches and ministries from outside our state that have committed to helping us in this both financially and physically. Our work will truly begin once the disaster relief teams begin to pull out in the days to come. Begin now to pray about what God would have us do here. What an amazing moment in history! What an incredible opportunity to express God's grace and mercy in the midst of incredible tragedy.

This neighborhood was hit hard with the recent storms. We will be serving breakfast at the Harvest Youth Club (230 Lockhart Rd., Harvest) in this neighborhood on Monday and Wednesday, as needed. If you are interested in helping, please contact Kim Gilbert: kim@summitcrossing.org. We will also be working with this area for the next several months.
